Why is it that we seem to spend considerably more time trying to erase qualities about ourselves rather than embrace and refine them? Perhaps the answer is simply that it’s easier than acknowledging emotions that convict us AND provoke us to act! CONSIDER THIS: True Self-Awareness is like embracing the many faces of Eve OR Adam Up Close and Personal—AND discovering a way for them all to coexist. We are who we are for a reason, which we each have to discover. Understand that your life’s journey doesn’t truly begin UNTIL you make the decision to acknowledge AND accept your many faces… NOT just those you like. According to Rilke, “The only journey is the one within.” Make it both memorable and enjoyable because you matter AND deserve to meet ~ love ~ and embrace the REAL DEAL: YOU [God's Beloved]! YOU [Blessed to the full and running over]!

“We must welcome the future, remembering that soon it will be the past; and we must respect the past, remembering that it was once all that was humanly possible.”- George Santayana. Note that there are two words of great significance that bear highlighting and acknowledging, daily: “humanly possible.” Indeed, it is not until we dare to step out in Faith AND reach beyond what is “humanly possible,” that we finally realize the magnitude of all that is “humanly IMPOSSIBLE“ [without] Christ. BECAUSE…it is through Christ that ALL things are possible. CONSIDER THIS: There are signposts in life, which are designed to lead us [throughout] our journey to Christ. There is [also] this natural human compulsion to ignore them—to do things our way! Oftentimes, it is not until we are hurting, bruised, bloodied, battled scarred, and weary that we “Give God a try.” THAT…is the true dawning—the true realization and “age of our enlightenment!” THAT…is when we earnestly PRAY and cry out to GOD—IN THE NAME OF JESUS! THAT…is when we discover WHO we are ~ were ~ and will always be in Christ: GOD’S BELOVED! THAT…is when we go within for guidance—WHICH… is where God wrote His Word on our hearts and across our minds. WHICH…is where the fruit of His Spirit is revealed—WHICH…is how He gives us wisdom [that] we might walk in victory—strengthened, encouraged, and empowered! BECAUSE…“We are more than conquerors.” We can go [beyond] what was [once] merely “humanly possible”—to do “all things through Christ who strengthens us!” (Philippians 4:13).

Philosopher George Santayana is quoted as having said, “Life is not a spectacle or a feast; it is a predicament.” Indeed, life is a series of predicaments—those we create AND those created by someone or something else. CONSIDER THIS: No matter what OR how predicaments come about, life ensures that you will deal with them [sooner or later]. BECAUSE… it is through predicaments that you experience life. AND…Your ability to quickly assess their level of importance [influences] the degree AND duration of their impact. EACH BREATH PRESENTS: a Predicament to inhale ~ an Experience to exhale ~ and a Choice—only you can make AND express. KNOWLEDGE of what you experience [internally] from any given predicament—is expressed to others AND measured [based] on the degree to which you are able and willing to express it [externally] and honestly. Give yourself permission to Experience Life through its Bouquet of Predicaments—you are stronger ~ wiser ~ and more courageous and resilient than you think—REALLY…you are!

BUT… Consider this: We can [each] strive to [reinforce] a foundation already constructed and established by Jesus. AND…that foundation is HOPE! Each of us can exemplify HOPE— through an ideal, a dream, a goal, a vision. Each of us can be an Expression of Infinite Possibility—when [individually] we hold ourselves accountable… AND… [collectively] we take responsibility for what we contribute to the world. A world— that God created AND blessed— for us! A world—where—after “He created us in His own image AND patterned us [male and female] after Himself—He blessed us and told us to multiply and fill the earth AND subdue it!” A world—in which He declared, “They will be masters over all life.” – (Genesis 1). INSIDE-OUT, begins the process of true human evolvement ~ enrichment ~ and empowerment. Allow others to experience HOPE through your ideals, your dreams, your goals, your vision! Let them experience HOPE through you—God’s Expression of Infinite Possibility!

IDEAS…CHALLENGE CREATIVITY! There are ideas… [seemingly] so complex [yet] intriguing in nature—AND there are ideas… [seemingly] so unattainable [yet] alluring and captivating THAT—much like Fireflies—they inherit a fate of entrapment. [As children]— we willfully pursued ~ captured ~ and confined Fireflies to jars [because] their [collective] glow was so enchanting and awe inspiring—and the chase was so exhilarating and fun. [As adults]—we are reluctant to entertain and examine—YET… eager to confine and contain ideas that challenge us to utilize that immense wealth of creativity stored up [and overflowing] within each of us. Consider this: You are a living source of untapped ideas, creativity, and infinite possibility! Ideas…need to be given flight wings—so that they can soar—so that you can explore and examine where they might lead. Ideas…were never meant to be locked away and placed on a shelf in your mind—reserved AND labeled FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY! You never know which idea will prove to be innovative and cutting edge. You never know which idea will supply the legs that support a [greater] NEED, which YOU ARE CAPABLE OF SUPPLYING AND… DELIVERING! Take the lid off your Ideas—Release them! Like Fireflies—Let them Flash in multible colors—lighting up the world—sharing your very own [living] energy source of untapped ideas, creativity, and infinite possibility! Go on…I dare you!

Don’t you know that the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth? He never grows faint or weary. No one can measure the depths of His understanding. He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; He offers strength to the weak. Even youths will become exhausted, and young men will give up. But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”- (Isaiah 40: 28-31). Have FAITH… AND…BELIEVE! You are more than a conqueror! “[You] can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.” (Philippians 4:13). When something—a recollection ~ a thought ~ a vision ~ a feeling ~ a sense of foreboding ~ a call to act ~ etc.—crystallizes and pulsates with a life force so strong as to give you PAUSE—if only for a moment—PAY ATTENTION! Designate a special time and day each week to Connect Acknowledge Review what’s been powering your engine AND/OR causing YOU to stall. Consider this: Moments turn into Hours which turn into Days which turn into Weeks which turn into Months which turn into Years—of MISSED OPPORTUNITIES. At any given moment—if something is powerful enough to give you PAUSE—it’s important enough to provoke you to PAY ATTENTION ~ EXAMINE ~ and INVESTIGATE the IMPACT of CAUSE and AFFECT. Often we go around feeling drained, disconnected, and disenchanted OR… energized, eager, and elated. Either way, we appear to be CLUELESS as to HOW it is that we TRANSITION from one emotion to the next—seemingly…out of no where! However, it’s not out of no where! It’s from Collective Moments that go ignored. It’s from those moments that are allowed to turn into hours, days, weeks, etc. UNTIL…they take us from a PAUSE [alert]…TO…a complete STOP—thus, FORCING us to PAY ATTENTION! DEMANDING that we ACT—that we DO SOMETHING! IF…that is, we are to PREVENT entering into a valley of Crash and Burn…A valley of Total Melt Down! Stay mindful that NOTHING JUST HAPPENS—EVERY MOMENT COUNTS—PAY ATTENTION!

“Don’t be so consumed by the pain that you don’t hear the message.” Writer, Cynthia Griggs Fleming said those words about a man—who on this 40th anniversary of his assassination—we celebrate and honor the memory of a life well lived in service to all. He was a man who walked the causes for which he so passionately championed ~ talked ~ and ultimately lost his life for: nonviolence, peace, liberty, and justice…for everyone…regardless of race, creed, or color. In addition to being charismatically engaging, he was also a well respected civil rights leader and activist ~ a prolific writer and fearless orator—loved by millions—and impossible to forget. That man’s name is Dr. [Rev.] Martin Luther King. Consider this: You can choose to live life [within] and view life [from] a very limited [confined] space, and thus experience a very limited [restricted] sense of security. OR, you can choose to step [into a life]—Where space is endless. Where unpredictability ~ bugaboos ~ and mysteries abound to challenge and provoke you to act. Where your survival abilities are stretched and tested to measure how well you adapt, endure, and persevere. Where your conscience is hard pressed to ensure that your dreams, goals, and ambitions are [not only] scaled and framed to your advantage—BUT—that they also have a worldly advantage—One which does not infringe upon the rights of others. One that creates space and a place…for everyone! There is strength in numbers! “A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12). In 1971, Carole King wrote these lyrics: “Winter, spring, summer or fall, all you have do is call and I’ll be there, you got a friend.” The song is aptly called “You’ve Got A Friend.” The lyrics… could easily serve as a prerequisite for making the right connections AND cultivating an intimate, forward moving ~ forward thinking Support Group—One…that channels positive energy. One…ready and able to help each other refocus ~ recharge ~ and maintain perspective. One…willing to brainstorm — ready and open to exploring new ideas ~ options ~ and opportunities. One…proportionately enhanced with accomplished communicators AND great listeners. One… committed to following up on each others progress and offering back up when needed. One…where genuine camaraderie ~ concern ~ and affection are felt and exchanged—everyone needs a safe harbor. Consider Matthew 18:18-20: “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.”
